What is an Enlarging Prostate?
Being one of the main organs in the reproductive system of a man, the prostate creates fluids in semen the function of which is to support and defend the sperm against natural vaginal acids. The prostate doubles in its size by the time when a man is 25 years old and is still growing in his 50’s and continues to increase in size during the rest of his life.
The pressure on the urethra increases with the growth of the prostate. This fact leads to painful and unpleasant symptoms which include painful urination, urinary hesitancy, and ED (erectile dysfunction). The process of enlarging of the prostate is referred to as BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia).
The Stages of Prostate Growth
At birth the weight of prostate is about 1.5 grams In puberty the prostate increases to about 11 grams In the early to middle 20’s the prostate growth amounts to about 18 grams In the early 50’s a new growth phase begins which is on till the age of 70 where the prostate usually weights about 31 grams. This phase of growth is identified by the doctors as BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia).
About BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia)
The prostate gland differs from other organs as it continues to increase in size during some stages of a man’s life. This process is a part of the normal development of all males' body. Actually, almost 90% of all men in the age between their sixties and seventies experience certain difficulties related to prostate issues
Why Does the Prostate Grow?
There is no certain answer. As most theories contradict each other. But still two of them are based on changes of hormonal levels.
DHT
It is logically to consider the growth in the prostate to be connected with conversion of testosterone into DHT (dihydrotestosterone), together with the presence of the 5-alpha reductase enzyme which converts testosterone into DHT. When DHT comes to prostate cells it can cause the release of growth factors that are the reasons of the prostate growth.
Change in Sexual Hormones
During man's life the relative levels of the testosterone and estrogen in his body change. It means that the increase in relative estrogen causes cell growth in the prostate gland, especially in the presence of elevated DHT levels.
The natural ingredients in Ryagen such as Beta-Sitosterol, Saw Palmetto extract, Phygem Extract, Red Clover, Garlic, Pumpkin Seed and others have passed a lot of tests and have proven their ability to improve prostate health by reducing not only the symptoms but the causes of BPH.
